New York Airport Guide
Comprehensive New York Airport Guides
New York boasts three main airports that are used by international flights: JFK, New York Newark Liberty Airport, and La Guardia. Of these, JFK and Newark airports are the largest, and are two of the busiest in the world, while La Guardia is a much smaller airport close to the centre of Manhattan that is principally used by short haul aircraft and business travellers.
Both JFK and Newark Liberty airports benefit from dedicated train lines into the centre of New York City, and taxis are available from outside the terminal buildings. A cab into the city will cost approximately USD50 including any tolls, and this price is generally fixed. You are expected to tip approximately 10% of any fare to the driver.
Many hotels offer a discounted or complimentary shuttle service from the airports, and you should enquire about these at the time of booking.
Most major airlines such as British Airways and Virgin Atlantic offer exclusive departure lounges for business class passengers at both airports, and these provide a welcome respite from the crowds of people who pour through these busy buildings every day.
